About me

I am a work in progress.

I was over 300 pounds after unhappy marriage/divorce/custody battle. Laziness, self pity and emotional eating

I tried quite a few of the goofy ways to lose weight, but was too lazy to do the only thing that ever worked in my teens and twenties.

I first modified my eating returning more to my native roots and curbing all unrefined carbohydrates/sugar/alcohol

I tried adding in "fun" sports with disasterous results...and numerous accidents. I decided to go to the gym instead and after losing weight and regaining my balance centre I was able to put on skates and rollerskates and do the fun sports I wanted to do.

I started with 2 days a week Somewhere along the way I developed a desire for weight training. I loved the feeling, the muscle and the burn. At that sort of weight my cardio portion was very low but i have since worked up to a full 30 minutes.

I am of a mentality that you should move as much weight as you can in one set of 12 reps. I started with bi/triceps at 30 pounds, legs curl and extension at 100 and leg press at 190.

I increased the amounts to 50, 130, 220 and also doubled the reps just this week. The results I can see, hence the addition of a full body picture OMG. This week I am going to increase my days to 5.

For the first time in 10 years, I am looking forward to Spring and summer, short sleeves, shorts and bathing suits!
